Myth #1 - Toning is "firming up the muscle".
The Facts: Muscle is already firm. There is no such thing as a soft flabby muscle only soft flabby fat. Muscles do not go from soft to hard or hard to soft - they shrink, grow or stay the same size.
Muscles can get weaker or stronger. Muscles themselves do not "firm-up" or "tone". There is no such thing as a "toning exercise". And for the record: your abdominals don't tone themselves by doing 100 crunches!
Myth #2 - Toning is a result of just burning fat
The Facts: Toning is in fact a two-step process. Burn fat and add lean muscle. In a moment I'll SHOW YOU how to do both at the same time!
Here's what happens when you just lose the fat without adding lean muscle.
Myth #3 - Toning is a result of just adding lean muscle
The Facts: Again, toning is a two-step process. Add lean muscle and burn fat. Don't be fooled into thinking that adding lean muscle is going to magically burn off all the fat. Muscle certainly increases your metabolic rate to help you maintain your weight but you need TRUE metabolic workouts that have a huge AFTERBURN and calorie burn or else you'll never reveal the muscle definition underneath the layer of fat!
Here's what happens when you focus primarily on gaining lean muscle and do burn off all the fat.
Again, all the healthy bodies you find attractive are shaped by muscle and covered by a healthy layer of fat that smoothes it out to a shapely appearance.
Myth #4 - Toning is a result of low weight, high reps and lots of bodyweight exercises.
The Facts: Somehow the media has convinced you that if we just do bodyweight exercises or light weights for high reps, your muscles will magically take on a beautiful shape without growing or bulging. Training with light weight, higher reps and primarily bodyweight exercises is not wrong but you must understand it results in myogenic muscle tone, which is not the muscle tone that results in killer definition and curvy body parts.
Myth #5 - Heavy weights will make you look "bulky".
The Facts: Eating too much food will make you look bulky! Your muscles grow on calories so as long as you manage your calories, you'll manage your weight and shape.
Again, the media has detoured your progress by having you believe that if you challenge yourself with moderately heavy weights, your body will take on a bulky and unfeminine appearance. If you believe this, you probably still believe in the Easter Bunny & Santa Claus!
Women need to trust that building minimal amounts of lean muscle speeds your metabolism, burns fat and the most important factor to having a shapely body. Muscle is what gives the shape to your body!
Plus, most women don't produce enough testosterone to bulk up from a few gym sessions a week. God didn't intend women to look like men (go figure), so he made the chemistry of each gender's respective bodies different. (Can I get an amen?) In fact, most women produce 10-30 TIMES less testosterone than men and most men have a hard time bulking up! A big, bulky body is only attainable via one means: steroids.
Women must also trust that getting bulky doesn't just happen by accident. You have a better chance of winning the lottery than bulking up overnight.
And lastly, gaining lean muscle does not require you to gain fat. That's simply not true. It's possible to gain lean muscle without putting on additional fat weight and I'm about to show exactly how to do that in a sec!

4 Reasons You Don't Have A
Toned, Defined & Curvy Body…
Reason #1 - You're not doing TRUE fat loss workouts that have a huge AFTERBURN & Calorie Burn to reveal the muscle definition underneath the layer of fat…
Science proves high rep "toning workouts" for women don't burn sufficient calories to burn fat.
In a 2002 study, scientists looked at what happened when women performed various exercises at different weights and repetitions (85% of their maximum ability for 8 reps, versus 45 percent for 15). Subjects lifting heavier weights fewer times burned more energy and had a greater metabolic boost after exercise.
In another study published last year, scientists followed 122 women for six years. They found that those who were assigned to do resistance exercises three times a week — sets of 8 reps at 70 to 80 percent of their ability — lost the most weight and body fat. A similar two-year study of women who did strength training with challenging weight twice weekly found similar effects on body and "intra-abdominal" fat.
Real muscle tone is achieved with moderately heavy weights and training with lower reps. Cranking out loads of high reps with pink Barbie weights won't do anything for your abs, arms, butt or thighs!
Yes, I know what everyone says, lighten the load and go for the burn -- but as the science showed, that's complete nonsense!

Reason #2 - Your workout doesn't FOCUS on developing BOTH myogenic & neurogenic muscle tone…
To really understand why high rep "toning" workouts are a joke, we have to understand a few things about muscle tone in general. There are two types of muscle tone; myogenic and neurogenic.
Don't get thrown off by the scientific words; myogenic tone simply refers to your muscle tone at rest. It is affected by the density of your muscles; the greater the density of your muscles, the harder and firmer you will appear.
Higher-rep training (i.e. 8-12 reps and 13+ reps) results in "filling you out" through growth and an increase in such things as the sarcoplasm, mitochondria, and capillaries, which in turn yields a "softer" pumped look. Most females don't want that look where their muscles always look engorged with blood!
Only heavy lower-rep training (i.e. 7 reps and under) will improve your muscle density, [i.e. myogenic tone through the growth of the contractile proteins myosin and actin. ]These contractile proteins are by far the densest components of skeletal muscle, and causing growth of these proteins translates into a tighter, more defined and sexier look… even at rest!
Another benefit of heavy training is increased neurogenic tone (i.e. tone when movement or contractions occur) through the sensitizing of alpha and gamma motor neurons.
The best part about neurogenic tone is that it's easily noticed when the slightest of movements occur. For example, while taking your sweater off at a party your friends can't help but notice your defined arms!
Finally, improved neurogenic tone will have you looking fitter and more defined when you're purposefully contracting your muscles during a workout or posing in front of your friends :-) ! Who checks out their muscles in a relaxed state anyways?! Any way you look at it, neurogenic muscle tone is what you want. It leaves you dramatically more defined and sculpted than if you had neglected training the nervous system with lower reps.
Reason #3 - Your workout is missing sufficient targeted muscle work to ACTUALLY give your muscles SHAPE!
Did you know that muscle is responsible for that perfect hourglass figure? Yes, adding minimal amounts of lean muscle to just your shoulders and glutes will increase your level of attractiveness by improving your waist-to-hip ratio.
Unfortunately, many fat loss workouts (think circuits with random multi-joint exercises stacked together) do a great job stripping off fat but often times leave you looking skinner and softer instead of sculpted and strong.
Because these workouts do not incorporate sufficient or targeted muscle stimulation to actually gain lean muscle tissue to give your body shape.
Targeted & Varied Metabolic Resistance Training (MRT) Workouts!
MRT workouts combine non-competing exercises in the same circuit or workout. For instance:
Lunges for 15 reps
Shoulder press for 15 reps
Lat pulldown for 15 reps
Burpees for 30 seconds
This workout is great for burning calories but not for shaping your muscles because of the lack of direct muscle work.
Targeted Metabolic Resistance Training combines a series of exercises on the same muscle group in the same workout. This is known as body part training and is the cornerstone behind giving your muscles shape! If you want to shape a muscle, you need to specialize on it and work it hard!
Another brilliant component of CURVALICIOUS is the acknowledgment of your body's varied muscle-fiber make up. Without getting too scientific, many of your body parts are made up of more fast-twitch fibers than slow-twitch fibers. Fast-twitch muscle fibers only change with heavier loads. Slow-twitch muscle fibers only change with lighter loads. Let's apply this to getting some hot hammies…
Your hamstrings are primarily fast-twitch so when you train them with high reps, you're almost wasting your time! Hamstrings, specifically, need lower-reps to adapt! Same thing with your biceps, which are primarily fast-twitch! So all those high rep biceps curls are pretty much doing nothing for you. Biceps need lower reps and heavier weights to grow! Imagine how fast your body will shape up once you apply the correct training stimulus!
Reason #4 - Your fat loss workout is too hardcore…
And if you're following a hardcore workout, let me guess, you're following a hardcore diet too? How's that working out for you? Having fun?
Hardcore workouts and diets will certainly lean you down in the short term but they will also strip off a lot of your precious muscle leaving you skinnier and softer.
Sure, you'll be lighter on the scale but stripping off your precious muscle leaves you looking frail, weak and unhealthy. Plus, you weaken your bones and damage your metabolic rate, which results in adding fat back and cancelling out all your hard work. Sound familiar? They also risk injury and enforce the "get rich over night" mentality of fitness.

Q: How long should I follow the CURVALICIOUS workouts?
It's up to you. I follow the 5-day program on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday schedule. I take Thursdays and Sundays completely and let my body recover. I recommend you give the program a full twelve weeks to see the best results and no less than six weeks. On average, our bodies adapt to a new program every 6-12 weeks.
Q: How fast should I see results?
I have no idea but I'm confident you'll see results faster than you have in the past! Most ladies drop anywhere from 1-2% of their body fat each week and continue to do so for at least 3-4 months before they need to change things up. If you've never worked with lower reps and heavier weights than expect to see your fastest results yet. Just adding 1-2 pounds of lean muscle will dramatically make your body look better!
Q: Can I follow CURVALICIOUS at home or do I need to train in a fancy gym?
Absolutely! I include a "home gym version" that you can print off and follow in the comfort of your own home. I would never make a fitness program that was subject to a gym that required fancy gym equipment. We'll build our bodies with good old-fashioned resistance that includes everything from benches, dumbbells, barbells, stability balls, bands and our own bodyweight. Everything is fresh, stimulating and challenging.
Q: What if I don't recognize an exercise?
The entire workout program is VIDEO based so you get to watch me demonstrate every single exercise for multiple reps and I even include step-by-step instructions on how to perfect every exercise so you don't hurt yourself. It's like getting your own Personal Trainer!
